The role
Following our continued growth and success, winning and positioning ourselves to deliver current and future Energy projects across Australia our Power and Energy team is seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer – Secondary Systems who has experience in the Energy sector and having an electrical background Secondary systems and Protection design experience . This role will be based out of our Brisbane office.
With a minimum of 5 + year’s experience working as an engineer in a relevant industry, you will play a key role in:
- High level of knowledge and skills in relevant design across Secondary Systems and Protection
- Technical delivery, and client relationship management across a number of Energy projects
- Strong team player and design management for Energy related projects
- Delivering projects under strict timescales whilst ensuring quality performance meets with SMEC objectives and client expectations
- Contributing to bid preparation and providing technical input into power generation projects.
The successful candidate will have/be:
- Tertiary qualification in electrical engineering (preferred) or industry equivalent experience of 10+ years
- Chartered Professional Engineer, RPEQ
- High level of knowledge and skills in relevant design across Secondary Systems and Protection
- Ability to interpret and communicate information of a complex nature
- Familiar with the Australian energy market and excellent knowledge of the National Electricity Rules
- High quality relationship management skills, with the ability to engage project stakeholders and develop strong ongoing client relationship;
- Understanding of standard construction quality systems
- The ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, with a diverse range of people;
- Demonstrated initiative and the ability to work under minimal supervision.
- Ability to work within a high performing team environment
