As a Senior engineer, in addition to the responsibilities of an engineer, you will be responsible for
resolving escalated service issues, coaching other engineers to resolutions, engineering and implementing complex projects, and for maintaining and overseeing the technology of their assigned accounts.
Key areas for the role:
- Work closely with the state engineering manager to ensure the smooth operation of all engineering activities.
- Work closely with other Senior Engineers across the nation and work on developing strategies to provide remote support and on-site visit support to engineers including interstate sites.
- Take ownership of technical escalations, liaise with local stake holders, Vendors and work towards resolutions.
- Excellent time and resource management skills.
As a Senior Engineer, you will report directly to your relevant State Engineering Manager
Your key responsibilities:
- Senior Engineer is required to take active ownership of technical hurdles involved in repair and maintenance of radiotherapy and associated equipment in his state.
- To engage in frequent or periodic communications with sponsors, vendors and potential customers.
- Ensure that tasks, milestones, and deliverables are accomplished on time, within budget and in accordance with GC quality standards.
- Utilize broad and innovative skills to work in a team environment to find solutions to challenging problems and contribute to concept development and customer proposals
- Work with Engineering Manager in streamlining quality process control.
- Expected to accommodate roster changes to ensure onsite and remote support to other engineers as required. This includes flexibility to change roster with short notice or perform split shifts during the day.
- Proactively engage in increasing clinical availability of Radiotherapy equipment in their respective state.
- Actively engage in National engineering service delivery support and contribute towards national spare parts management initiatives.
- Work with the team in Performance and record keeping of FCOs, updates, Preventive Maintenance and upgrades as released by the manufacturer.
- Assist in coaching other members in the department within a specialist field
- Demonstrate a basic knowledge of completing simple QA activities
- Demonstrate people and technical leadership skills to support your local team and manage them in absence of your local state engineering manager.
Experience:
- Recognised qualifications as an essential in the relevant engineering discipline
- Suitable Vendor / In House training on all equipment where applicable with experience in working with a variety of relevant equipment platforms and staff of differing experience.
- Be eligible to apply for, and hold, a Radiation user Licence and Electrical restricted worker's licence relevant to the applicant's State in which employed, and other States as required.
- Detailed, up to date technical knowledge and understanding of all Linear Accelerators and associated infrastructure (including IT requirements)
- Ability to travel interstate.
- Overseas travel may be required.
- Attend training courses and seminars as required
- Strong communication skills.
- Flexibility in work roster and ability to work in split shifts if required.
