ABOUT THE ROLE As the Senior Estimator, you will be play a critical role within the team, bringing together the design, quoting, costing, pricing and procurement functions of the business.
The main responsibilities of this role include:
- Interpret plans & supporting documentation to develop detailed BOQs.
- Liaise with Sales, Design and Construction teams to accurately prepare cost estimates.
- Apply margins per company policy.
- Maintain, and improve systems & procedures.
- Day to day task management of Estimators.
- Communicate with other departments regarding material changes to estimating costs & build practices.
- Suggest ideas for improvements in estimating process & systems.
- Provide accurate and detailed take offs.
- Review construction plans and advise of alternative/cost saving build practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Cert. 4 in Building and Construction.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in the construction industry.
- Good problem-solving skills with a solutions focused mindset.
- Able to manage competing priorities.
- Ability to work within and across various departments of estimating, with highly developed interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently both autonomously & within a team environment.
- Excellent Excel and systems knowledge and experience.
- Strong knowledge of NCC & relevant standard.
- Location in Newcastle with free onsite parking.
