We are a mid-sized construction company based in Brooklyn working across shop and office fit-outs, commercial refurbishments, retirement living refurbishments and some residential. We are expanding and looking for an experienced Senior Estimator for an immediate start.
The Role
As Senior Estimator you will take charge of the estimating including working with the existing estimator and report directly to the General Manager. You will be an integral part of our business and display exceptional time management and customer service skills.
- Reviewing tender documents and providing accurate quotations
- Computing cost factors and preparing estimates using Buildertrend
- Consulting with clients, vendors, designers, and other stakeholders to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues
- Analyse drawings and specifications, including creation of take-offs
- Complete commercial tender documentation to reflect the tender proposal
- Review tender sites for potential projects to tender
- Prepare and submit RFI's for projects in tender & construction
- Preparing and submitting variations
- Preparing contractor and supplier purchase orders
- Communicating project information to the construction delivery team
- Evaluate and compare suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive and accurate pricing
- Have the ability to communicate, influence, and build effective relationships at all levels
- Ability to plan projects using Microsoft Project or similar
- Have the ability to estimate multiple projects at a time
- Review budget to actual on projects
About You
- Proven experience estimating a variety of commercial and domestic construction projects
- Self-motivated, highly organised, and great attention to detail
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, civil drawings and relevant tender documents
- Prior experience using Buildertrend preferred but not essential
- Advanced computer literacy including Microsoft suite of programs including Project
- Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal
- Thorough knowledge of building regulations and codes of practice
- Ability to interact with staff, contractors, clients, and vendors
- Proven time management skills
- Trade background preferred
- White card
- Current Driver's licence for site inspections
- Eligibility to work in Australia
