Your Role:
As a Senior Estimator, you will play a crucial role in shaping their success. Your responsibilities will include:
Estimating and Proposal Development
Collaborate with the General Manager on estimating and proposal strategies.
- Respond expertly to tenders and pricing RFIs, particularly in civil works.
- Source and negotiate prices with suppliers and sub-contractors to optimise project costs without compromising quality.
Tender Handover and Meetings
- Develop comprehensive tender supplier lists for the handover stage.
- Lead and participate in tender meetings, ensuring clear communication and project alignment.
- Engage in pre- and post-tender meetings, demonstrating exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
Large Tender Execution
- Work closely with the General Manager to plan and execute large tenders.
- Create compelling bids that reflect their commitment to excellence.
Senior Estimator Contributions
- Prepare subcontract and material inquiries, reviewing subsequent quotations.
- Build accurate cost estimates for permanent works and preliminaries.
- Ensure labor and plant resources in cost estimates align with tender programs.
Commercial Aspects and Handover
- Present the commercial aspects of tenders to senior management for approval.
- Assist in preparing and submitting commercial tenders to clients.
- Verify that proposed contracts align with inquiry documents and offers upon tender acceptance.
- Present commercial handover documents to the contract delivery team.
Liaison with Construction Teams
- Work closely with construction teams to collect data on output and resources, providing valuable feedback for future tenders.
What They Need From You:
- Minimum of four years experience in estimating and proposal development.
- Strong foundation in civil construction, project management, and contract management principles.
- Knowledge of WH&S and environmental legislative and regulatory requirements.
- Effective communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills.
- Valid driver’s license.
