Our client are a leading firm specialising in construction and remedial works consultancy that operate across NSW. They are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Estimator to join their team. As a full-service consultancy, they specialize in providing remedial works solutions for a diverse range of projects, from minor alterations to large-scale government infrastructure developments.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred.
- Demonstrated and proven “first principle” estimating competence.
- Primary knowledge in remedial works and construction.
- Review proposals to ascertain project scope and scale, acquiring supplementary details when necessary.
- Develop estimates employing diverse approaches to refine methodologies, solutions and schedules.
- Proficient in managing time effectively with a keen focus on detail.
- Possession of a valid Class C driver's license.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assessing the comprehensive expenses encompassing materials, equipment, utilities, and labour necessary for project completion and remedial works.
- Investigating documentation and scrutinizing specifications.
- Crafting estimates to facilitate works and project planning, organization, and scheduling.
- Ensuring timely submission of pertinent documents and budgets prior to bid deadlines.
- Providing regular updates to Management and clients regarding project progression.
- Devising contingency strategies and adeptly managing potential risks affecting cost and scheduling estimates.
- Up to date with cutting-edge estimating technologies and industry methodologies.
- Collaborating with various teams and conducting site visits.
- Proficiently interpreting plans, regulations, and codes of practice.
- Conducting quantity take-offs and tender submissions for projects.
- Establishing communication with clients, stakeholders, and relevant governmental bodies when necessary.
- Working closely with management, site personnel, and diverse consultants (surveyors, construction managers, architects, and other engineering professionals) to develop budgets.
- Compiling reports to ascertain financial projections for labour, materials, budgets, and recommendations for contractors/subcontractors.
- Utilizing requisite software for cost calculations, quote verification, and tender submissions.
