The Opportunity

We are seeking a strategic evaluative thinker who is passionate about using data to derive insight, narrative and meaning.

We are working to make it easier for Western Australians of all ages and abilities to walk, wheel and ride as part of their everyday journeys, and to feel comfortable, confident, and safe in their experience.

The sets out our plan for how to collect and analyse data about who is riding, why they’re riding, and where they ride. Having robust and informative data helps to guide investments in WA’s active transport network that support people to walk, wheel and ride.

As an experienced evaluator, you will lead multiple, high quality research and evaluation to assess the effectiveness of built environment and behaviour change strategies, projects and programs. You will thrive working collaboratively across teams and with partners across the Transport Portfolio to ensure that our programs have robust evaluations. Your ability to communicate confidently and use data and insight to negotiate, influence and inform strategic discussions will be critical to your success.

There is one 12-month fixed term contract opportunity, with the possibility of extension(s) or permanency.

  1. A detailed CV that clearly outlines the skills and experience you have gained in relation to the job description; and
  2. A written statement (maximum two (2) pages) addressing only the following selection criteria (SC):
  • (1.1) Leadership - Supports a shared sense of purpose and directs teams to the delivery of evaluating program/project outcomes and key transport objectives.
  • (1.3) Communication and Stakeholder Engagement - Builds, establishes, manages and maintains effective communication and relationships with a variety of individuals by liaising, engaging and negotiating in a purposeful, concise and effective manner.
  • (2.3) Considerable program design and development experience.
  1. At least one of the referees should be the applicant's immediate (most recent) supervisor/manager unless there are exceptional circumstances.
