This position is a senior role within the Event Planning team responsible for the large scale, complex, multi location events held at the Brisbane Showgrounds and within the Royal International Convention Centre. The primary function of the role is the planning of all event requirements with the client, relevant stakeholders and all RNA internal departments to ensure accurate and detailed event documentation and successful event execution.
This is a Fixed term - Full time position, with the successful candidate starting as soon as possible. The contract will finish up in August 2025.

The Royal National Agricultural and Industrial Association of Queensland (RNA) owns and operates the historic Brisbane Showgrounds precinct, home to the iconic Royal Queensland Show and more than 300 events a year. The 22-hectare precinct, just 1.5kms from the CBD attracts a million visitors a year and is the state’s largest indoor/outdoor events space featuring the vibrant King Street dining precinct and the five-star Royal International Convention Centre.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate and execute event logistics with an emphasis on high profile and/or complex and large scale events
- Ability to turn their hand at any type and size of event
- Effectively collaborate and facilitate key stakeholder, client and internal meetings and site inspections
- Solution focused and ability to successful trouble shoot challenges
- Be operationally focused and on the ground, as required, from move in through to move out
- Liaise RNA WHS representatives on all safety matters
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to negotiate difficult situations and clients
- Leads by example, team player, self motivator and a positive role model
- Act in the capacity of mentor to other planning team members providing high value support to ensure delivery of high standards of planning excellence to the client
- Back up and support for Event Planning Manager
- Be skilled in Ungerboeck (event management) system ensuring accurate input of event information and timely updates, detailing all client and internal requirements and create floorplans in CAD as required

- Proven experience planning music festivals and large scale outdoor trade events
- Project management skills and experience
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- You will have superior attention to detail and the demonstrated ability to effectively liaise with a diverse range of people and different audiences.
- You will show initiative, have a proactive approach and pre-empt client's requirements demonstrating your commitment to customer service excellence.
- Excellent written communication.
