Senior Export Operator

About the role

An exciting opportunity for a Senior Export Operator to join our growing team!

This role will be responsible for managing the end-to-end shipping operation for our clients using DP World’s assets and systems, while maintaining our reputation and brand as market leading logistics service provider. The Senior Export Operator will manage day-to-day operations for key clients, from bookings, processing shipments, liaising with transport through to invoicing and periodical reporting to Export Manager and clients.

The key roles and responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:

• Book and manage all shipments for our clients with appointed service providers
• Maintain and update records of all shipments and provide activity reporting and key dates to client
• Work closely with our Procurement team to ensure that best rates are obtained for use by the client and meet requirements 
• Continuously update and manage system information for shared visibility of shipment and customer information. 
• Manage the creation of required export documentation for the client. Documents include but not limited to, Bill of lading, Certificates of origin, Health Certificate
• Consolidate all costs and finalise shipments for invoicing based on quoted rate
• Generate and manage periodical shipment report for clients
• Report on Non-Recoverable Cost for management review 
• Assist Export Manager to run operational reports to identify & manage compliance on department KPIs 
• Identify opportunities for system integration to remove manual data entry
• Provide the highest level of customer service to the client by being responsive, cooperative, and knowledgeable with regards to the client’s business and the global import/export market
• Demonstrate a problem-solving approach and escalate issues to correct department / contact in timely manner 
• Offering support and guidance to other team members to improve the level of customer service to all clients 
• Create and maintain a Continuous Improvement register to track improvements

About you

The successful candidate will possess the following:

• Training specific to the client industry or workplace (supply chain focus) 
• Industry training in freight forwarding (Supply Chain/DG Management)
• 5+ years’ operational experience in ocean export - Mandatory 
• Supervisor or leadership experience in similar export roles or departments – Highly Regarded
• Carrier Procurement experience – Highly Regarded, if any
• Experience with Reefer, Perishable Goods, RFP, Health Certificate, Letter of Credit – Highly Regarded, if any
• Excellent understanding of the supply chain from an Australian perspective 
• Strong customer service skills and attention to detail 
• Experience in managing customer shipments end to end – export. 
• Demonstrated ability to work and solution issues independently   
• Cargowise (Wise-Tech) experience and knowledge advantageous.
• Industry specific qualifications (RACA/IATA/FIATA)
