This family-owned farm in the central cropping region of WA has a full-time position available for a Senior Farm Hand who would like to progress to management. The farm produces crops, wool, and lamb.
Starting now, your duties include operating large modern Ag machinery to prepare paddocks, seed, fertilize, spray, and harvest, mechanical servicing, workshop, and general maintenance with occasional sheep work. Self-propelled broad acre spraying experience, current chemical accreditation and an HC licence are preferred.
The farm works routine hours and aims to knock off early on Friday afternoons with weekend work occurring during busy periods, and occasionally at other times if needed.
The position is best suited to a Senior Farm Hand who is ready to progress to Assistant Farm Manager, or a Farm Hand who is ready to step up to Senior Farm Hand, who wants to settle and become part of a thriving local community, has a passion for Agriculture, strong initiative, plenty of energy and enjoys working in a small team environment which strives for excellence.
And the farmer will upskill an enthusiastic farm worker with livestock and mechanical skills who has exposure to cropping work who would like to expand their cropping skills and is ready to step up to a senior position.
The position is offered as a package including hourly rate, newly renovated comfortable accommodation on farm, utilities, and a work vehicle. K-10 schooling is available in Dowerin, home of WA’s largest annual Agricultural Field Day, which also offers day care, medical, general store, sports, and recreation including a skate park and a swimming pool to cool off in summer.
