The Role
Bega's Finance team is looking for a Senior Commercial Analyst to partner with the Sales team to understand Bega's current market performance and make data-based recommendations on pricing and revenue to drive and improve product performance.
You will become a trusted advisor by combining your ability to analyse financial data and trends with understanding our sales operations to identify insights.
You will use your strong relationships with your business partners to translate these insights into actions that improve our financial performance.
We are looking for someone who wants to win with our sales team and grow our business. Someone who can build trust with their stakeholders and appropriately challenge them when necessary.
Responsibilities
- Providing pricing recommendations on new business opportunities and price reviews for existing customers using financial modelling for various scenarios.
- Build solid relationships with the Sales Teams (Foodservice and Independent Grocery) to support and guide them with opportunities and risks.
- Develop relationships across the business (Planning, Operations, Logistics, Procurement, Category, and Marketing) to broaden your knowledge when setting prices or forecasting performance.
- Manage reporting of monthly domestic Growth channel performance, including key variances, trends, risks, and opportunities. Analyse and comment on variances, taking feedback from business partners.
- Present trends and recommendations to senior leadership and bring your stakeholders on the journey to maximising potential with our products.
About you
This role is about you and your ability to engage, learn, and develop; hence, soft skills and personability speak volumes more than formal and technical qualifications.
- A retail/ FMCG background will be preferable.
- Excellent analytical and quantitative skills with a high attention to detail
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex messages and explain financial outcomes to non-financial people.
- Curious with a desire to learn and understand the key drivers of problems.
- Able to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders while ensuring performance accountability.
