Your new roleIn this 12 month contract your primary responsibility is to conduct
Operational Due Diligence reviews on both existing and prospective third-party investment managers in accordance with the Fund's investment governance framework, risk management framework and APRA Prudential Standards. To be successful in this role you will need to be able to identify operational risks based on documentation, responses to questionnaires and
Due Diligence meetings (onsite or video calls). You will need excellent communication skills and feel comfortable actively contributing to meetings with C-level executives along with being able to succinctly document the findings of your review.
Key duties include but are not limited to:- Help coordinate, prepare, and conduct Operational Due Diligence reviews of external investment managers.
- Reviews include evaluations of internal controls, operational support structure, trade processing, legal documentation, cash management procedures, valuation practices, management of service providers, etc.
- Conduct calls and onsite meetings with CFOs, COOs, other senior management and personnel
- Assist with the ongoing oversight of the existing investment managers which includes distributing adhoc questionnaires, investigating operational incidents and breaches, reviewing quarterly compliance attestations and annual reports.
- Build a comprehensive understanding of operational best practice across all asset classes and understand the relevant regulatory implications.
- Maintain the database of investment managers' key information for continuous oversight, strategy and peer group analyses.
What you'll need- Bachelor's degree qualifications in Commerce or a related discipline.
- Understanding of the Operational Due Diligence process and related legislation, with experience having performed Operational Due Diligence.
- Strong analytical skills and a high attention to detail
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and in a team under tight deadlines.
- Strong organisational skills.
- Detailed understanding of investment / fund management industry
- Exposure to complex asset classes and instruments, including Equities, Fixed Income, Private Credit, Private Equity, Infrastructure, Property etc.
