About the role
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Senior Finance Analyst to join the Santos team. Based at our global headquarters in Adelaide, this position reports to the Senior Finance Manager – Energy Solutions and is fully responsible for managing the financial planning, forecasting, reporting and analysis (at a portfolio level) for the Santos Energy Solutions (SES) division.
Key responsibilities include:
- Business financial performance
- Analyzing financial impacts of key business decisions
- Managing individual cost drivers
- Recommending actions to improve financial performance
- Monthly results performance reporting
- Annual budget preparation
- Forecasting approach and execution
- Implementation of accounting policies, practices and processes within the SES Division
- Divisional ownership and focal point for interaction with Corporate/Group Finance reporting tools and teams
This position will work closely with the Senior FM – SES Finance, senior divisional business leads, Corporate/Group finance teams, and other senior finance team members, to establish strategy and direction, and execution of key deliverables/processes for the SES Finance team.
Key accountabilities include:
- Champion change and foster performance cultures to achieve desired culture outcomes and engaged team members
- Provide key stakeholders with analysis, insight and commentary in relation to business performance, including performance against targets and trends, key business drivers and performance metrics
- Effective and timely engagement and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
- Upholds and ensures compliance with all company standards and processes.
- Full accountability for co-ordination and delivery of Budgeting, Forecasting and Reporting relating to SES Division portfolio (including understanding of gross value inputs and conversion to Net Santos share in USD reporting currency).
- SES Finance focal point for planning and reporting systems – SAP S4, SAC, Jedox
This is a role uniquely positioned within the business, involving interaction with corporate stakeholders, including senior leadership VP's and EVP's across divisions and functions within the company.
About you
Holding an Accounting, Commerce or similar Tertiary Degree, as well as having completed, or be working towards a professional qualification (CA, CPA or equivalent), the ideal candidate will possess substantial accounting experience, preferably in the Oil & Gas industry, along with a sound knowledge of accounting standards and financial reporting requirements. You will also be highly proficient in MS office products and data modelling / manipulation and ideally will be experienced in the use of SAP.
