About the role:

We have an exciting opportunity to join us as a Senior Finance Business Partner with a global outlook to optimise the strategic development, operational efficiency and effectiveness of the Assurance Services (AS) Division and its respective business lines through providing actionable insights and financial analysis.

This role, reporting to the Group Head of Business Partnering, will have close and regular interactions with senior business stakeholders from the Assurance Leadership Team and their direct reports and specifically supports the System Certification business line whilst acting as an SME for cross divisional analytics development. The role regularly interfaces with both Regional / Country finance teams and Group Finance teams during Divisional planning & reporting cycles.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for providing Business Partnering support to the Group Assurance Director and their leadership/executive team.
  • Be an influential member of the Global SC leadership team, influencing across a range of topics and decisions to drive the conversation about operational and delivery optimisation, and value for money.
  • Create models to report on KPI's to give business insight on the System Certification business line, Internal & Supplier Audit and wider Assurance Services to create efficiencies and drive performance improvements.
  • Ensure Divisional metrics reflect market and industry comparators. Drive for actionable analytics and insight of performance against available external benchmarks.
  • Create reporting to analyse trends in KPIs in all areas of sales, revenue, profit, costs etc….
  • Challenge Regional and overall Divisional month-end performance and work with regional finance teams to understand drivers, address shortfalls and /or initiate improvements and mitigations.
  • Work with the regional finance teams, Group FP&A and Reporting teams to ensure correct and best practice accounting for the assigned areas and take joint responsibility for the outcome.
  • Prepare a robust and defensible Financial (annual) Plan and Forecasts (F1, F2) for the Division and SC business line, taking all internal and external factors into consideration.
  • Develop processes, analyses and presentations to support Strategic and annual planning and reporting cycles and the predictions of financial outcomes.
  • Responsible for the development of financial models, processes and analyses to support planning and reporting cycles and strategic initiatives for both System Certification and the wider AS division.
  • Represent finance in all meetings for assigned areas including forecasts, plans and strategic plan reviews and meetings with the Assurance Leadership Team and Group meetings as required.
  • Ensure compelling business case development for any investment cases required to drive the SC business line's strategy. Represent Finance in Programme governance meetings (Steercos etc.).
  • Identify Risks/Opportunities and provide plans/ideas to mitigate them where appropriate.
  • Modelling and analytical support in System Certification for Operational metrics and deliverables - gaining strong knowledge of non-Finance data sources/systems and processes. To include BSI input to Global ISO Survey, Attrition analytics, adoption and level of Remote/hybrid delivery.
  • Drive continuous improvement in all FP&A processes - identifying and delivering opportunities for automation, simplification and meaningful insight.
  • Lead, Coach, and develop those in immediate and wider AS Division teams (both Central and Regional) ensuring high engagement and promoting job satisfaction.

To be successful in the role, you will have:

  • University degree or equivalent
  • Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA or ACA) with significant commercial experience
  • Experienced Finance Business partner with significant experience influencing across operational divisions at senior leadership level.
  • Management / financial accounting experience.
  • Experience of providing financial support to non-finance functions.
  • Senior stakeholder management.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to drive the business narrative and actionable insights from financial data and metrics.
  • Consultative and collaborative.
  • Confident building processes and procedures from scratch.
  • Commercially astute, focus on adding value.
  • Demonstrable experience of drawing solutions and actionable insight from large data sets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with gravitas and credibility to operate at GLT level.
  • Team player with positive "can do" and proactive attitude, solution oriented and goal driven.
  • Strong systems experience - advanced excel, general ledger/ERP useful (preferably SAP), analytic and visualisation tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Customer focussed with ability to build strong working relationships with business leaders and managers.
