We are seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to join our Finance Department in an integral role, supporting the Director of Finance in a number of areas of financial reporting, compliance and maintenance of the general ledger. The responsibilities will include:
- Support the Director of Finance in achieving objectives, including assisting in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Prepare and oversee the generation of financial reports, including monthly reports with variance analysis, daily bank reconciliations, and cash flow projections.
- Manage month-end tasks such as journal entries and General Ledger reconciliations, as well as annual processes like financial audits and tax returns.
- Maintain the fixed asset register and prepare monthly capital expense reports.
- Maintain records for compliance and reporting purposes, including BAS, FBT, STAT Returns, and grant reconciliations.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in accounting.
- CA/CPA qualification.
- A minimum of 5 years in comparable role (education experience preferred)
- Attention to detail and high degree of accuracy involving numeric data and data entry
- Excellent computer literacy, including spreadsheets, data entry and knowledge of MS Office Software to an advanced level
- Experience in Synergetic would be advantageous
- Time management skills and ability to complete tasks within strict deadlines
- Ability to work autonomously and also as part of a team.
