Joining a leading Private Sector client on a 6-month fixed term contract basis as a Financial Accountant

Your new company 

Hays are working with a leading business who has a statewide presence in their search for a Senior Financial Accountant to join their team on a 6-month fixed-term contract basis.  A leader within their field, they have an excellent finance team of 7+, and have a reputation for providing an excellent working environment. 

Your new role 

Due to upcoming leave, this newly created role is reporting into the Financial Controller and will operate with a high level of autonomy. You’ll be based in the Greater Hobart office, and be employed on a 6-month fixed-term contract basis. You’ll be working with a small team and senior leaders to build a contemporary, whole of business approach to quarterly reporting and Financial Accounting functions, including; 

• Preparation of the Annual Financial Statements 
• Liaising with external auditors
• Ownership of key account reconciliations 
• Tax and deferred tax calculations 
• Management of intercompany transactions and group consolidation
• Assist with ad hoc monthly reporting 

What you'll need to succeed 

As the ideal Candidate, you’ll have a demonstrated background within a similar role within in a commercial environment or looking for their first role in industry. CA/CPA qualified you’ll have excellent attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills, and can work with minimal supervision. You’ll also possess strong IT abilities, have clear and concise communication skills, and the ability to develop long and lasting internal stakeholder relationships. You’ll also hold a driver’s licence and be prepared to undergo a national police check.
