The role
Reporting to the APAC Financial Controller based in Stafford, this role will lead a small close-knit team that is responsible for the financial requirements of several of our legal entities. To succeed in the role you will bring strong technical skills and experience working in a chartered firm, coupled with audit experience. As a leader, your ability to build relationships with your team and stakeholders through skilled communication will be key to achieving outcomes for the business. As a global business, there will be some travel and work hours may vary across national and international time zones to meet stakeholder needs. To balance these requirements, we offer flexibility and a hybrid work environment.
The day to day
Month end reporting including:
- Preparing accruals and prepayments
- Processing month end journals
- Balancing of intercompany accounts
- Review of operational P&L's
- Investigating and resolving variances
- Preparation of month end pack for several legal entities
- Reviewing month end packs prepared by Assistant Accountants for errors and variances
- Ensuring month end deadlines are adhered to.
- Preparation and review of balance sheet reconciliations and actioning or following up on items
- Working closely with Business Managers on any queries relating to financials.
- Year-end reporting including preparing consolidation workpapers and Annual Group Statutory Report for New Zealand entities.
- Liaising with external auditors for Group and Local audit requirements.
- Ownership of annual budget process for responsible entities.
- Approval of invoices for coding, appropriateness and ensuring AP controls have been adhered to.
- Leading your team to ensure work is completed to required standards.
The Essentials
- Qualified CPA or CA
- Experience managing Assistant Accountants and Senior Bookkeepers
- Experience in financial consolidations and preparation of statutory annual accounts
- Strong technical accounting knowledge
- Good understanding of month end reporting
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Excel (macro coding not required)
- Experience with Pronto desirable
- High attention to detail
- Ability to be team oriented as well as work independently.
- Ability to organise workload efficiently, meet tight timelines, problem solve and perform duties of the job accurately.
- Ability to work managing different global time zones as required.
