About the role...
An exciting new opportunity has arisen to join our Finance team as the Senior Financial Analyst. The position is responsible for the development, maintenance and delivery of a suite of financial tools including performance reporting, financial analysis, forecasting models and templates to enable strong insights into the Organisation’s finances to achieve operational and strategic outcomes.
The position works closely with the Finance Business Partners to build and maintain Councils service costing and activity based costing models and builds strong collaborative working relationships to provide trusted finance expertise and support.
In addition, the position supports the Manager – Finance in the provision of leadership and coaching to the Finance team, contributes to continuous improvement initiatives and assists the Financial Services Department with key activities.
Incumbents in this position must be willing to gain and possess a satisfactory National Criminal History Clearance.
About You...
You possess experience in financial systems and processes including budgeting and forecasting, with a sound understanding of statutory accounting. You are experienced in analysing financial information, problem solving and making decisions in relation to complex situations, as well as making and implementing improvements in process design.
You enjoy building strong working relationships with key stakeholders and supporting non-financial managers to understand and interpret financial information. You have well developed communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging and insights to your audience.
You are also passionate about coaching and mentoring Finance professionals and actively promote team development.
The successful applicant will hold a relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting and Commerce, and ideally holds a CPA/CA Qualification.
