About the role
Reporting to the Manager, Corporate Finance, this role supports strategic M&A and other growth projects in connection with GrainCorp’s core operating initiatives and targeted growth opportunities. This role is offered on a hybrid working pattern - 3 days in the office and 2 days from home.
Specifically, you will:
- Supporting mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures including valuation and overall process management (due diligence, approvals etc)
- Design, develop, implement and maintain flexible financial models
- Prepare presentations, briefs/cases and plans to support identification and development of opportunities
- Support business modelling and analysis for senior finance and business leaders
- Assess and maintain a database of key business drivers and rate assumptions to support reporting and modelling outcomes
About your experience
Our ideal candidate is tertiary qualified in finance, or a related discipline and has demonstrated skills and experience in financial analysis / modelling / M&A/transactions along with:
- Independent skills to research and to access internal & external information
- Prior experience in a transaction environment (M&A and JV’s)
- Good stakeholder management capabilities across commercial and functional teams
- Strong commercial acumen
- Advanced-level Excel & PowerPoint skills
- Solid understanding of financial statements (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet & Cash Flow Statements)
- Sound understanding of financial concepts & analysis methods (e.g., DCF, NPV, WACC, ROCE)
- Problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to develop innovative and practical solutions.
