It is the role of the Senior Financial Crime Manager (WPB) to assist the Head of Financial Crime in achieving a balance between the demands of regulators, external bodies and governmental initiatives, WPB business and ultimately the Group’s shareholders and customers; being aware of the political, management, regulatory and reputational implications of a particular decision and courses of action.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Deliver against the FC Advisory objectives for WPB which includes;
- Execution of risk stewardship responsibilities with respect to FC risks, controls, issues, actions and events.
- Providing sound advice on the direction and considerations for FC related events and actions to address.
- Advising on the impact and implementation of relevant regulatory changes ensuring business awareness and readiness of key changes.
- Advising on the FC risks associated with WPB products, services, business initiatives and customers.
- Provide guidance and support with respect to internal, external and regulatory reviews.
- Support and drive change programmes to ensure that FC risks are managed in line with regulatory requirements across the business.
- Maintaining strong partnership with key stakeholders balancing between regulatory requirements, internal policies and strategic direction of the Bank.
To be successful in this role you will need:
- Seasoned professional with experience in one or more senior risk compliance roles, to include significant AML experience within the financial services industry.
- Excellent understanding of AML/CTF regulations with strong understanding of Sanctions, AB&C, Fraud and Tax Transparency.
- Awareness of key Australian regulatory change initiatives and associated impacts to the banking industry.
- Lateral thinker with an ability to interpret and solve complex issues with the ability to work collaboratively in teams and to deliver on time.
- Ability to support decisions with sound reasoning. Ability to clearly articulate business and regulatory implications of analysis and findings.
- Experience in interpreting and analysing a large volume of information and/or data with an ability to provide succinct summary for management.
- Proven leadership skills and the ability to matrix manage.
- Be of strong character with exceptional interpersonal skills
