AMP Bank will launch a new division in Ql 2025 that will target small businesses, sole traders and consumers. We're on a mission to build Australia's leading digital bank. The new division will offer transaction and savings accounts designed to provide tailored functionality and features to help small business owners and everyday consumers manage their finances 'on - the-go' from their mobile phones. For us, these are exciting times launching a new initiative for AMP Bank that will position us to support Australia's growing number of small businesses with their banking needs and further deliver on our purpose, helping people to create their tomorrow.
How you'll make an impact
AMP Bank is a growing retail bank, with a focus on providing retail deposit and savings accounts, residential mortgage products and services, as well as other consumer value add services that support and complement AMP's businesses. The Bank distributes direct to retail customers and through brokers and advisers.
In this role, you will be helping us to build and deliver this exciting new division. You will shape fraud and Financial Crime journeys and the technical requirements and services within our banking platform and to ensure we protect our organisation and maintain the trust of our customers and community.
You'll make an impact by:

  • Fraud and Financial Crime Platform Ownership:
    • Adopts a platform owner and product manager role to define the technical design requirements and acceptance activity for fraud and Financial Crime features and capability, including configuration, integration and calibration.
    • Owns the fraud and Financial Crime platform and supports the continuous evolution of core journeys/ services including ongoing design and operating effectiveness assessment to ensure the features and capability are fit for purpose in meeting AMP Banks' regulatory and commercial objectives.
    • Defines and executes on a platform strategy that ensures compliance with regulatory obligations and industry standards, alignment to AMP Bank's commercial agenda, risk appetite and target state architecture, as well as practical consideration for internal operations and processes.
  • Team Leadership: Leads and supervises fraud and Financial Crime technical teams to foster a culture of "doing", collaboration, agility, continuous improvement and customer centricity.
  • Coaching and Mentorship: Provides coaching, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to enhance team members' skills and knowledge.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Utilises data analytics and modelling techniques to analyse, develop, test, tune and refine detection and monitoring rules. Leverages data to generate internal reporting and insights on metrics and performance of risk management strategies and processes.
  • Relationship Management: Builds strong relationships and works closely with other departments and capability within the AMP Financial Crime ecosystem, including architects, engineers, data specialists, legal and compliance, customer and operations. This includes acting as the primary point of contact for fraud and Financial Crime related matters within the banking platform, and resolving issues promptly and professionally.

What you will bring to the team

  • Extensive experience, 8+ years, working in fraud and Financial Crime risk management preferably in a banking and/or financial services environment
  • Strong understanding and experience working with fraud and AML/CTF solutions and processes
  • Ability to contribute to the development of business plans and present in senior leadership environments Proven experience in the successful management and implementation of regulatory changes Demonstrated ability to implement operational and/or organisational change
  • Strong experience of managing multiple projects and working in a project environment and understanding of project management principles
  • Ability to deliver results through others via effective leadership and coaching Experience in identifying, assessing and addressing operational risk
  • Understanding of the regulatory and compliance regime for Banking and Financial Services
  • Understanding of competitors propositions and industry trends and as they relate to a banking environment
  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications in finance, legal, compliance, Financial Crime or related field
