Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced financial officer with a minimum of 5+ years of experience focused solely on tax accounting for small to medium-sized businesses. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of various entities, including Trusts, Companies, Individuals, and Partnerships as well as experience with Xero, using it to implement long-term financial strategy.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of tax accounting for small to medium-sized businesses, including Trusts, Companies, SMSFs, Individuals, and Partnerships.
- Prepare and review financial reports and statements for compliance and decision-making purposes.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning activities.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and internal policies.
- Provide guidance and support to junior team members.
- Collaborate effectively with the team and assume a leadership role.
- Bookkeeping
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in public practice focusing on tax accounting for small to medium-sized businesses.
- Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification.
- Strong understanding of various entities, including Trusts, Companies, , Individuals, and Partnerships.
- Experience with bookkeeping, payroll processing (including PAYG, Superannuation, and Workers Compensation), and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in Xero and other accounting software.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
