About the team

Finance & Investment (F&I) Division are the custodians of Transport’s finances. We partner with our stakeholders to achieve their objectives while delivering value for money with a focus on achieving efficiencies in our programs.

Our Financial Reporting Operations team within F&I provide financial reporting support to a number of agencies in the Transport Cluster to ensure the Cluster meets its statutory reporting responsibilities as well as other internal and external responsibilities.

The opportunity

We are recruiting for a Senior Financial Reporting & Audit Coordinator to join our Financial Reporting Operations team. This is a permanent full-time opportunity with a base location in Macquarie Park, with hybrid working conditions available.

The Senior Financial Reporting & Audit Coordinator supports the Manager, Financial Reporting Operations deliver financial reporting services to several agencies. The role is responsible for the delivery of regulatory reporting requirements, projects and adhoc requests.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to;

Prepare Audit Engagement Information Requests, to ensure compliance with NSW Treasury and Audit Office requirements.
Develop strong professional working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.
Manage and maintain local applications (including IT system administration) to ensure the effective delivery of accurate balance sheet reconciliations.
Analyse and prepare regular and adhoc reports to support key stakeholders and statutory reporting requirements.
Coordinate the timely delivery of balance sheet reconciliations to support audit and financial reporting requirements.

About you

To be successful in this position you must have;

Sound knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations and commercial accounting practices relating to government organisations
Appropriate tertiary qualifications or demonstrated, relevant, equivalent professional experience and eligible for or progress towards membership in a recognised professional accounting body
You are someone who works collaboratively with others and builds and maintains strong working relationships. The successful candidate will be committed to managing and prioritising competing demands and responsibilities in a busy and evolving environment.
Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to communicate effectively and negotiate where needed with senior stakeholders.
Proficient at using MS Excel

Benefits

The salary for this position is Grade 8A ($123,470) – 8E ($138,284) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
