Job Description:The OpportunityDue to internal promotion, we are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Investment Finance team on a full-time 9-month contract. You will be working on the Infrastructure Investments asset class.You will be exposed to many aspects of the investment management industry and play a pivotal role to supporting the delivery and execution of investment strategies.
Key responsibilities:- Oversight and management of operational and reporting activities across the infrastructure portfolio to meet service delivery timeframes (includes monthly unit pricing, investor reports/statements, taxation workpapers, performance reporting, debt compliance reporting, regulatory reporting, annual audited financial reports).
- Involvement in project related activities such as portfolio investment acquisitions, restructures and transitions, capital and debt raising, and other client directives.
- Ensuring effective controls and processes are in place and in compliance with investment mandate obligations as well as QIC's internal controls framework, policies and procedures.
- Delivering valuable financial analytical insights through harnessing data and reporting from our eFrontInvest system.
- Driving outcomes through engagement with various internal stakeholders relating to treasury management, investment and financial reporting, technical accounting issues, risk, legal and tax matters, and performance reporting activities.
- Assisting the Tax team when necessary, in monitoring and managing the taxation risks and obligations across the infrastructure portfolio.
About You- Demonstrated experience in funds management, with a CA or CPA qualification.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles relating to financial instruments, valuation methodologies, foreign exchange and income taxes.
- Financial statement preparation (co-ordinating key stakeholders to audit clearance) in compliance with financial reporting standards and frameworks across a multi-jurisdictional environment.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills, with an ability to learn new systems skills.
- Strong problem solving and analytical ability, capable of managing complex tasks and projects simultaneously, whilst maintaining a high standard of accuracy.
