ABOUT THE ROLE
We are currently on the hunt for a creative individual to join our energetic and innovative team as a Graphic Designer.
This role plays a large part in the design and production of creative materials which includes extensive packaging, digital assets, point of sale and both trade and consumer communications collateral.
Our collaborative team of Graphic Designers are critical to the success of the company and as such we are focused on finding the right individual who can bring value into our existing culture and overall company success.
Ideally, we are looking for someone who has experience (or a genuine desire to learn) in developing effective packaging solutions. This person should also possess a creative flare with the confidence to execute results within deadlines set.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DELIVERABLES
- Assist with providing structure, controls, training, mentoring and development to the graphic design team to achieve and meet their deliverables.
- Lead the Graphic Design Team with managing the deliverables of the Graphic Design Team.
- Gather data, information and materials necessary to prepare for upcoming projects and deadlines that you are assigned to.
- Develop, design and layout concepts based on notes, presentations, style guides and other provided materials. This will include the creation of dielines for product packaging requirements.
- Illustrate, augment and/or design concepts with rough layouts.
- Gain design approval through the submission of rough arrangements and layouts with appropriate project stakeholders.
- Edit and produce final layouts for final approval to agreed deadlines and agreed expectations.
- Prepare finished copy or final layouts.
- Maintains and improve technical skills and knowledge through design workshops and reviewing professional publications etc.
- Support the team to develop capability and provide a high level of service.
- Any other design tasks as required.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, industrial design, or interior design, or equivalent experience (portfolio from the past 12 months is required)
- Well-developed Adobe Creative Suite skills with photography experience
- 3 Years’ relevant experience in graphic design either in house or with an agency servicing FMCG clients.
- Strong verbal and written English language skills.
- Strong attention to detail & follow through on instructions & plans.
- Energy, enthusiasm and results orientation with a hands-on style & the willingness to own the end result.
- A self-starter who can work independently.
- A team player looking to contribute to a positive work environment.
- Demonstrated flexible approach to situations and changing priorities.
