Become a member of the Brisbane-based Groundwater team and utilise your ability to extensively design and review groundwater models. Your excellent communication skills and drive to work on iconic projects will set you up for success. Hydrogeology degree &/or background nice to have.
This role will see you become a leader, thereby enhancing your capabilities and the reputation of WSP's Mine Water team. You will collaborate with talented and diverse professionals working on iconic projects to drive future ready outcomes that will benefit clients and communities.
Mining
The mining industry has a pivotal role to play in the green transition, and WSP's team of dedicated mining professionals are supporting the industry in delivering the metals and minerals required for a greener future, in a sustainable and responsible manner. We consider environmental, social and governance factors in tandem with engineering and design decisions that result in more sustainable and resilient solutions. We are experts in our field, and we are passionate about mining.
What you'll do:
- Developing groundwater models and drafting technical reports.
- Providing hydrogeological technical advice to internal and external clients.
- Mentor junior Groundwater Modellers.
- Drive innovation in our modelling practice with new techniques, workflows and ideas.
- Review models and support Groundwater Modellers from within our Queensland team as well as across our mining business.
- Hold a Bachelor's Degree in Hydrogeology, Geology or Geosciences.
- Extensive professional hydrogeological experience, preferably within a consultancy.
- Excellent technical report writing and data interpretation skills.
- Interpersonal skills necessary to build internal and external relationships.
- Experience with diverse range of groundwater modelling software and calibration utilities, with a background in MODFLOW (e.g. MODFLOW-USG, Flopy) preferred.
- Experience with uncertainty analysis.
- Experience using GIS and other software to visualise complex model outputs.
- Experience in coding to support pre-processing and post-processing tasks.
