About the role:-
We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Group Accountant to join our finance team full-time, based at our Southport Head Office located on the beautiful Gold Coast. Working remotely is not an option for this role.
The primary focus of this position is to support the financial management, reporting, and financial control of the Palm Lake Group of companies. As a Senior Group Accountant, you will be responsible for executing assigned tasks and aiding the Financial Controller in supervising, overseeing, and conducting quality reviews of junior finance team members.
Responsibilities:-
- Complete month end financial accounting processes, including preparation of: Audit quality reconciliations and supporting materials; Monthly management accounting reporting packs, preparation of reporting on financial results and KPI’s and relevant analysis on same;
- Assist in the preparation of consolidated financial reporting including consolidated management accounts, financial statements, and financial statement analysis;
- Provide supervision, oversight and perform quality review of certain reconciliations, reporting and analysis prepared by junior finance team members;
- Assist in the preparation of lender and external regulatory agency reporting;
- Assist in annual and half-year financial statements preparation and statutory audit process;
- Prepare annual budgets and rolling quarterly forecasts;
- Prepare cash flow reporting, forecasting and treasury activities;
- Engage with Group and Divisional operational employees in the preparation and dissemination of reporting and forecasting results and analysis;
- Maintenance of these budgets on a quarterly rolling basis;
- Participation in finance system implementation projects;
- A wide variety of ad-hoc projects as required by the Group Financial Controller and GM Finance;
- Providing back up for other finance team members.
Ideally you will have:-
- Degree qualified in accounting, with CPA or CA preferred;
- Minimum 3-5 years post graduate experience in a medium to large size enterprise.
- Experience with enterprise level Accounting ERP systems, Planning & Forecasting Systems, Analytic and Workflow Management Systems.
- Demonstratable experience in the supervision and quality review of junior team members output.
- Outstanding Excel skills with the ability to update and manipulate financial models;
- Solid technical understanding of the budgeting process, with experience in budget consolidation/aggregation considered favorably;
- Database interrogation skills;
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills, with an ability to meet tight deadlines;
- Excellent communication skills both verbal & written;
- The ability to work as part of a close knit team and be flexible with duties;
- Ability to deal and adjust to a changing environment with a positive, motivated and enthusiastic attitude.
