We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Infrastructure/Cloud Engineer working within company’s Infrastructure Team.
This role will support both our Cloud environments as well as our Windows based server infrastructure.
You’ll be a cross skilled in supporting and maintaining Infrastructure systems including Linux, Windows Server, Cloud PAAS, SAAS (AWS, Azure, Office365) environments. Extensive experience in the Microsoft Server and application suite is required, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Exchange Server, and SQL server is a requirement.
Key Responsibility:
- Working within the Infrastructure Team to support a diverse range of infrastructure across the business including Microsoft Enterprise Solutions, Network technologies, Service virtualisation and Cloud technologies, Active Directory, ADFS, Azure AD, Hybrid Microsoft Exchange and Office 365, and AWS.
- Automate company’s Platform Operations, by driving scripting operations procedures and automation.
- Ensuring Best Practices - You will continuously review our environment against Best Practice standards. You’ll make recommendations and improvements in a structured and methodical manner.
- Utilize scripting to provision well-architected and rightsized infrastructure.
- Coordinate with the Cyber Team and drive company’s security practices across the business.
- Work with System Architects to assist in the design and personally deliver infrastructure including compute, network, communications and storage components.
- Implement automations to deploy patching and routine maintenance across all Infrastructure.
- Maintain your knowledge on best practices, evolving threats, and opportunities to improve the performance, agility and cost effectiveness of the program.
- Routine Monitoring and Reporting - You’ll review these regularly with the IS/Infrastructure leadership. In cloud, you will regularly utilize AWS features such as Trusted Advisor, Guard Duty, and Well-Architected tools and produce actionable plans.
- Implement and manage automation to standardise the EUC experience – experience with Microsoft Intune is essential.
- Participate in high-profile Delivery Projects - You will work in a virtual team with the Development, Support, Testing and Service Desk to ensure the delivery of high-quality services and applications.
- You are continuously learning and extending your knowledge of best practice and the business value of technology innovations.
- Mentor and participate in Team Development - As a senior Platform Engineer, we’d like you to share your skills and experience to develop the team.
Desirable Requirements
- Windows operating system experience (Server and Desktop)
- Linux operating system experience (highly desirable)
- Knowledge of Oracle and SQL databases and applications (highly desirable)
- SAAS environments – e.g. ServiceNow, Office 365, Azure, AzureAD
- Experience in monitoring and auditing systems
- Knowledge of cloud monitoring tools (e.g. Stax Spotlight, Datadog, AppDynamics, CloudTrail)
- Strong Knowledge of Containerization technologies (e.g. Kubernetes, Docker)
- AWS Cloud experience - CloudFormation, Tags, ASGs, EC2, VPCs, CW, RDS, DDB, SNS etc. Knowledge of core AWS Cloud Services (EC2, EKS, VPC, IAM, Route 53, RDS, Lambda)
- AWS microservices – Lambda / API Gateway, SQS, SNS
- Ability to estimate usage costs and identify operational cost control mechanisms
- Customer service skills - Interpersonal skills
- At least 3-5 years’ experience in an Infrastructure role with experience AWS Cloud Platform engineering role.
