Our client is a highly regarded large and growing company that employs over 10,000 people globally. They are known widely for their positive impact across some of Australia's most important industries.
As a result of a recent acquisition, we are seeking a Senior Internal Controls Officer to fill a newly created role on an initial 12 month fixed-term contract. You will lead in ensuring the effectiveness of Internal Controls, risk management and compliance processes in a highly autonomous role, within a supportive peer group and company culture.
The Challenge
Reporting to the Internal Controls Lead, your responsibilities will include:
- Designing and implementing the internal control framework and identifying deficiencies and opportunities for improvement
- Supporting the design, implementation and testing of SOX within the company's entities.
- Collaborating with Management to design and implement key controls
- Designing, planning and executing an annual ongoing control compliance monitoring program based on the internal control framework requirements
- Assisting in the development and leading of regular training/awareness programs to train and educate risk owners within the region on Internal Controls topics.
- Supporting the roll-out and consistent use of relevant GRC tooling.

- Relevant risk and internal control experience, likely gained in a Big4 firm. This may be your first move out of professional services, or you may have already moved to industry
- Likely professional certifications such as CPA/CA/CIA
- Good working knowledge of SOX
- Ability to influence and to build and maintain strong relationships with varying stakeholder groups
- Most importantly of all – you are an innovative change-maker. You understand modern Internal Controls, can think strategically and you can build strong mutually beneficial relationships across the business.
