Help us deliver like never before
We’re looking for a Senior Java Engineer to join our diverse, talented and innovative digital technology team who together are helping our customers and communities build a better future. Together, we design, build and maintain products, services and experiences that Australian's love and trust, while delivering a sustainable future for Australia Post, and you could be part of that.
We're empowered to deliver for our teams and to delight our customers. We provide an inclusive and supportive environment that nurtures talented people, trusts our teams to deliver their best, and leverages modern work practices and technologies. It's an unexpectedly dynamic and collaborative culture that feels more like a start-up than a 213-year old icon.
What you’ll deliver with us
As our Senior Java Engineer, you’ll be joining one of our dynamic, Agile delivery teams working on products that our customers love and trust. Your contributions will be important to the successful delivery of our technical platforms and our commitment to crafting exceptional digital experiences that our customers use every day.
As a member of a Consumer Services delivery team, you will tackle exciting and complex business challenges aimed at supporting our customers to be able to efficiently track parcels through the Australia Post network. Your responsibilities will encompass development activities, advising on technology solutions, and ensuring they align seamlessly with our customer's needs.
You'll play a role in:
- Working on a high-volume traffic site, utilising your skills in ensuring the availability and stability of our tracking platform.
- Building APIs that can scale to handle spikes in user activity during peak periods.
- Safeguarding the security and privacy of our customers and platforms.
- Participating in the full development lifecycle.
You will be:
- Working with Java and Kotlin to build microservices deployed in the AWS cloud.
- Utilising your skills to integrate microservices using AWS technologies (Lambda, SNS/SQS, S3, Elasticache).
- Working on product assets and contributing towards shared component libraries.
- Executing tasks within the framework of Scrum or SAFe Agile methodologies.
- Collaborating with business analysts and UX to translate requirements into technical design.
- Working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
You’ll be part of an agile team adhering to the SAFe Agile framework for project delivery, and we’re looking for candidates with demonstrable experience in Agile methodologies and lean principles.
