We deliver geotechnical, environmental, specialised soils, aggregate and concrete testing services. Having operated for 25 years we are a trusted geotechnical and environmental service provider working on major projects in the Sydney Metro area such as the M12, M7 – M12, Sydney Gateway and Western Sydney Airport.
A unique opportunity has arisen for existing laboratory or assistant Laboratory Managers to step into a senior role.
The Role
Primarily you will be overseeing the day-to-day operations of the laboratories to meet client expectations, manage testing quality through audits and ensure the smooth operation of major projects.
You will also be responsible for:
- providing supportive leadership to other mangers of the team;
- participating in the delivery of testing and analysing complex soil samples;
- ensuring computed results is of a high standard while being cost effective;
- working independently, developing, and maintaining professionally beneficial client relationships; and
- consistently looking for areas of improvement within the company
- Ensuring profitability of all laboratories
We are looking for:
- Australian / NZ Citizen or Permanent Resident (must have)
- 8+ years as a either a Laboratory or Assistant Laboratory Manager and demonstrated leadership experience
- Experienced people leader with strong technical and auditing ability.
- NATA Signatory with a high-level understanding of Australian and TfNSW Standards
- Technical knowledge and expertise of the Australian Standards for Soils, Concrete and Aggregate Testing
- Managing compliance, quality management and continuous improvement hence taking responsibility to ensure all tests are performed in accordance with NATA standards
- Experience in utilising and managing a geotechnical LIMS system will be highly regarded
- Identifying possible project leads, drafting proposals, and engaging with clients
- Current drivers’ licence
- Nuclear Density Moisture Gauge operator's licence
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong work ethic and integrity
- Ability to develop and support junior technicians, technicians and managers.
