The Safety, Resource and Environmental Regulation Legal group is seeking applications for permanent appointment of Senior Lawyers with experience in resources industry and government practice based in our East Perth Office.

About the role
In this role, you will be working with a team of legal professionals responsible for providing advice to the Department and Minister on complex legal issues, predominantly relating to the resources industry and government practice.
You will also assist in the coaching, educating and mentoring of less experienced lawyers in all aspects of legal practice and contribute to the development of the Resource and Environmental Regulation team to meet their changing business needs.
You will have a high attention to detail and the capacity to be relevant and timely with your written legal advice. You will possess the ability to convey information to a variety of audiences and be a strong team player.

A detailed resume outlining your work history, education and professional development and covering letter of no more than two (2) pages, addressing the following points: * Degree in Law and admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Western Australia OR Legal Practitioner from outside the State whose qualifications for admission in Western Australia have been approved by the Legal Practice Board.

  • Demonstrated experience in providing timely, high level legal advice on a broad range of complex legal matters.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing complex advice on mining and resources, administrative law, government law or another area of law relevant to the position.
  • Selects the most appropriate medium for conveying information and structures written and oral communication to ensure clarity.
