Senior Lawyer - Baseline Clearance - $840 to $1190 daily rate including super (depending on skills and experience) - Long term contract or APS transfer option available - Canberra location
The Role
Our client is seeking a Senior Lawyer to be seconded or transferred (Section 26) to a high profile federal government department.
This position will require the successful candidate to provide support to our Commonwealth client, that is informed and directed by sound knowledge and will require the successful candidate to undertake some research and analysis activities to assist the team.
The Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include assisting with:
- the preparation of Notices to Give
- reviewing documents requested by an investigative body
- supporting the preparation of witnesses; and
- resolving any incidental legal issues arising from the notices.
The Requirements
The successful candidate will possess strong analytical and communication skills, and sound legal research skills.
It is expected that the candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter who can quickly adapt to a range of issues yet to be identified.
Previous experience in a litigation team in a federal government department would be highly regarded. Strong communication and IT Systems skills are essential.
A current Baseline security clearance and practising certificate are also essential.
