Creating a brighter future for life in the Tropics and beyond, through education and research that makes a difference locally, and globally, James Cook University (JCU) is now looking to appoint a Senior Lecturer / Associate Professor Assessment Lead, Medical Education. This full-time, continuing appointment can be based at either the JCU Bebegu Yumba campus in Townsville or the JCU Nguma-bada campus in Cairns.
What you can accomplish in the Role
As the Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor and Assessment Lead in Medical Education, you will play a key role in the development, evaluation, and review of assessment processes within the Medicine program, ensuring alignment with educational objectives. Your expertise will extend to overseeing the implementation of effective assessment management programs, including examination software and systems for workplace-based assessments. You will also contribute to the teaching of the medical program in undergraduate and/or postgraduate courses. This multifaceted role also involves delivering professional development for academic and clinical staff, focusing on best-practice assessment design and delivery, as well as providing constructive feedback for students.
What you will bring to the role
Holding a postgraduate qualification in a health or education discipline you can demonstrate a robust track record of teaching and assessment within a medical curriculum. You will have a demonstrated ability in developing, coordinating and evaluating assessment programs, and software delivery systems, for written examinations, objective structured clinical examinations and workplace-based assessments. Teaching experience in a relevant field of the medicine curriculum, coupled with a record of research scholarship in health professional education and high-level communication, interpersonal, and people management skills are crucial for success in our multidisciplinary environment.
