Senior Lecturer (Education Focused), Sydney Dental School

• Full time, continuing position
• Opportunity for an experienced clinical educator with willingness to manage the private practice programs for dentistry students
• Base salary from $145,023 + 17% superannuation + potential dental clinical loading

The Sydney Dental School is seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer - Education Focused. This position is crucial in making significant contribution to teaching and learning practice and engages in educational leadership within the school.
Your key responsibilities will be to:

• undertake a leadership role in educational innovation, curriculum design and review, contributing to outstanding educational delivery and outcomes
• engage in high-quality teaching and learning experiences which meet the University's expectations and standards for education-focused staff
• design and deliver quality educational units of study and experiences that support student needs and meet curriculum requirements
• develop and maintain relationships with placement stakeholders to ensure operational success.
• engage in supervision of dental students in clinical settings.
• apply scholarship and knowledge of contemporary pedagogical practice to innovate education
• maintain an understanding of the University's strategic agenda and contributes to furthering that agenda
• develop profile through pedagogical conferences, seminars and outreach activities.

About you:

• AHPRA registration as a dentist
• Recent experience in clinical dentistry
• PhD in a relevant area of dentistry and health (desirable)
• a developing network of relationships with key academic, industry and professional institutions, partners and stakeholders
• demonstrated success in designing, implementing and evaluating teaching and learning initiatives
• demonstrated understanding of the subject-matter within the discipline
• experience in supervising or mentoring others
• experience in teaching and learning, as evidenced by participation in team teaching and teaching in a variety of settings.
