As a Senior Lecturer in Clinical Medicine (Curriculum/Assessment), you will:
- Serve as Year 3 or Year 4 Unit Chair, in both a leadership and operational capacity, working closely with and supported by the Course Director and Deputy Directors; Assessment Lead; Clinical School Directors; Theme and Rotation/Topic Leads; and Curriculum and Student Experience (CaSE) Team to deliver an outstanding student experience in Years 3 and 4 of the Deakin Doctor of Medicine Course.
- Serve as first point of contact for students within a unit (regarding academic and progression advice, and student welfare concerns)
- Lead unit and course teaching teams and work collaboratively with other teaching teams in the faculty to develop effective unit/courses curricula and learning materials (including through course leadership roles). Lead review of units and courses and implement refinements.
- Make significant contribution to seeking funding for research and creative activities, including applications for external competitive funding, external funding for commercialization and translation activities and other funding demonstrating sustained efforts.
- Lead the implementation of citizenship activities and effectiveness as influence/champion at local/ university level. Represent the university at academic, professional and civic forums.
To be successful, you’ll have:
- Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (or equivalent) and/or advanced qualifications and experience in the relevant discipline area
- Excellent record of scholarly learning and teaching in Clinical education, including innovative curriculum design and/or delivery
- An up-to-date knowledge of the educational principles underpinning curriculum design, assessment and clinical teaching
- Experience with clinical assessment and provision of high-quality feedback to learners
- Demonstrated capacity and passion for leadership in Clinical education
- Current registration with the Medical Board of Australia
