Your new role - Senior Lecturer / Associate Professor in Food ScienceAs our newest team member, you will be integral to the Food Science program, driving academic excellence, conducting research, producing scholarly outputs, and engaging in professional activities where relevant. You will have a pivotal role at the Murdoch University Food Centre, situated in the Food Innovation Precinct, collaborating with businesses on various initiatives spanning the food production to consumption continuum.You will contribute to teaching within the discipline at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. As Academic Chair of postgraduate Food Science, you will have the opportunity to establish academic excellence in a custom-built education and research facility; oversee Honours and postgraduate student supervision; and manage administrative duties within the College and University. What you'll bring to this roleA PhD in Food Science or closely related area.Extensive industry experience in Food ScienceStrong record of developing and leading undergraduate and postgraduate programs and evidence of successful primary supervision of Honours, Masters and PhD students.Demonstrated excellence in research at a national or international level, including securing funding, building professional relationships, and publishing in relevant high-ranking peer-reviewed journals.Proven success in supervising students, mentoring students and junior staff, fostering industry partnerships and effective interdisciplinary collaboration.Applicants should refer to the Position Descriptions for further details on the work requirements, duties, skills and experience required for this role.
