ABOUT THE ROLE
Provides academic support to the Discipline Lead General Practice, and assists with curriculum development, and assessment and teaching into the discipline of General Practice in the Fremantle MD program.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high quality teaching, that is informed by research, for both rural and metropolitan placements, in the discipline of General Practice in the School.
- Work with the Discipline leader of General Practice to develop and revise, deliver, and assess the General Practice curriculum in the Fremantle MD program.
- Maintain and develop relationships with the general practitioners and the General Practices who take students on placements.
- Assist with maintaining, managing, and recruiting clinical teachers and placements in General Practice.
- Provide pastoral care to medical students in the General Practice rotations.
ABOUT YOU
- A medical qualification registrable with AHPRA.
- A fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners or equivalent.
- Clinically active as a general practitioner in Western Australia
- Experience working as a clinical teacher and/or supervisor with either or both medical students and/ or junior doctors.
- Experience in medical education, teaching and assessment preferably within a medical school setting.
- High level interpersonal skills including demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and persuasively with a diverse range of people.
- Excellent proven organisational and management skills as well as problem solving skills and attention to detail.
