We are looking for a Senior Legal Counsel who will be accountable for the delivery of commercial legal advice to ING’s Australian procurement and contract review functions. The role will also support the broader delivery of legal services as required.Reporting to our Head of Legal, you will be responsible for
- Drafting, reviewing, advising and negotiating procurement contracts and RFP/tender documentation as well as distribution/sponsor agreements, partnership agreements and intra group agreements with other members of ING Group.
- Reviewing regulatory and administrative requirements of ING Group to ensure Australian commercial agreements, documents, policies and procedures satisfy those requirements.
- Assisting in the development and maintenance of relevant policies and procedures, contract templates, internal FAQs and best practice guidelines and assisting in the training of relevant business units in their use.
- Timely identification and escalation of legal risks associated with procurement, third party and intra group contractual arrangements.
- Maintain a high level of expertise in relevant areas of law for corporate procurement including laws relating to financial services, prudential oversight of ADIs, competition and unfair contracts regime, technology, intellectual property, privacy and data security.
- Drive continuous improvements in the processes, procedures and ways of working to enable ING to meet its procurement objectives.
- Current Australian practising certificate.
- Min 10 PQE in private practice, an Australian Bank or financial services organisation.
