AddressAn ambitious leader within Automated Warehousing, our client has presented an exciting opening for a site-based Senior Maintenance & Reliability Manager in Dandenong, Melbourne. Globally, they design and deliver high-complex solutions for cutting-edge technology systems for multi-million-dollar projects, from concept to go-live.
Who We Are Looking For

- A strategic framework for a 12-month maintenance and reliability plan and how you will deliver this.
- Key stakeholder relationships – engagement with your team and client with a score relative to your input.
- A safety strategy whereby it is at the forefront of the team's mind, daily.
30 staff, 15 permanent and 15 transient. Includes; Shift Maintenance Technicians (Mechanical and Electrical), Spare Parts Coordinator, Planner, Inventory, Reliability team of 4, and 4 Apprentices.
Financial Responsibility
Overtime costs, spare parts revenue, R&M of around $7m, $5m in annual CAPEX.
The Role
Monday to Friday, you will be the relationship lead for the customer concerning all operational and technical demands, for a 24/7 shift production. Team performance and management of the service contract, identifying improvement opportunities in operational process and activities.
Reporting to the Senior Service Business Manager, your responsibilities will be to;
- Ensure safety is a priority
- Manage maintenance and reliability of the entire site automated material handling system
- Manage and lead the performance of the site-based maintenance and reliability teams
- Communicate with the customer, subcontractors to coordinate maintenance
- Identify contract variations and sales opportunities on site
- Communicate performance of the site internally and with customer
- Manage site-based service teams shift schedules, scheduling and distribution of activities
- Locate improvement opportunities, make improvement plan and execute / distribute improvement plan
- Manage escalations and site incidents on a 24/7 basis
- Commit to and drive performance improvement
Your Skills, Experience and Qualifications
- Technical qualifications
- Client management experience in a Maintenance & Reliability leadership role within an FMCG environment
- Hands-on knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical and Controls of Automated machinery
- Previous leadership experience of shift maintenance
- Experience in creating safety strategies for a site
- Strong key stakeholder management and communication ability
- Lean six sigma experience / qualifications would be an advantage
