Business Banking (BB) manages relationships with Commonwealth Bank’s small-medium enterprise customers, mid-market corporate customers, and regional and agribusiness customers, providing a wide range of financial services and solutions. It also services our personal and institutional online trading customers.
Business Lending (BL) is a product and specialized sales team that offers working capital, business loans, Asset Finance, corporate finance, and property finance to our customers. It also has responsibility for Line 1 risk and controls for these products. BL is directly responsible for product management, process management, portfolio and pricing management. It works closely with bankers, data and analytics, digital and customer experience teams.
Your Team
The purpose of the Asset Finance Product Management team is to continuously develop and refine the Asset Finance product and service offerings base on market trends and competitors’ activities to fulfil the customers’ Asset Finance needs, while contributing to the Bank’s overall profitable growth in market share and revenue.
Your contribution will be to manage the Asset Finance balance sheet and P&L, support the Asset finance business analytics capabilities and deliver ongoing capital benefits for the group and its shareholders. You will be accountable for delivering superior client outcomes and managing the businesses pricing framework and adherence. You will gain exposure with senior stakeholders across a number of key business units including; Treasury, Risk Management, BB sales teams, Product and IT.
Your Responsibilities
- P&L management & optimisation across the Business Banking Asset Finance portfolio
- Engage with and respond to pricing requests from the Frontline
- Scope, develop & implement both cost & capital optimisation initiatives to support shareholder returns
- Develop new analytics & digital assets across the AF portfolio to support growth
- Provide support on complex pricing & modelling requirements from frontline teams
- Develop modelling & key inputs into credit papers for BB structured Asset Finance opportunities
- Develop opportunities across Capital Models (PD, LGD etc.) & optimise treasury funding models
- Provide detailed support on key strategic initiatives across the AF portfolio
- Drive the Business Banks Green/Sustainable finance agenda & delivery roadmap
- Contribute to deal team discussions and develop bespoke client solutions for deal sizes up to $300m
- Assist with developing a retention strategy and analytics framework for the business
- You will also use your analytical skills to optimise for capital and provide recommendations, and implement plans to improve PACC and ROTE returns
- Assist with analysis across multiple products, segments to design pricing experiments and targeted campaigns to improve product penetration and financial performance
- Strong excel and analytics capabilities required
- Ability to draw and develop insights from large sets of data into meaningful actions
- Experienced financial modelling & statistical analysis required
- Ability to produce PowerPoint decks for GM/EGM community
- Ability to manage and influence stakeholders
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Basic understanding of P&L and Balance sheet mechanics
- Understanding of the banks’ capital framework and to develop strategies to improve Product and segment PACC/ROTE
- SPARR/DPX pricing experience highly desirable
