About the Role
School Infrastructure NSW (SINSW) is delivering new school buildings, major upgrades and maintenance strategies to ensure every school-aged child has access to high quality education facilities at their local public school. This encompasses the largest investment in public education infrastructure in the history of NSW.
As the Senior Manager, Community Engagement, you will be at the forefront of driving effective communication and engagement strategies. Leading a dynamic team, you'll craft and implement innovative tools tailored to diverse audiences, to ensure effective communications and engagement activities to support the NSW Government’s pipeline of Capital Works projects. Your political nous will come into play as you navigate high-pressure situations and provide expert advice on sensitive community issues.

The ideal candidate will possess:
- Strong leadership skills, with a proven ability to lead teams and engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders in a politically charged environment.
- Excel in developing and implementing creative communication strategies, crafting diverse materials for different audiences with a proactive and motivated approach ensuring timely and budget-friendly delivery.
- Robust problem-solving skills, crisis management experience, and the ability to navigate contentious issues with demonstrated critical thinking, analytical abilities, and a readiness for difficult conversations.
- Experience working on complex infrastructure projects and / or knowledge of statutory planning pathways and associated communications and engagement requirements
Essential Requirements
- Tertiary qualification in communications or a related discipline and/or equivalent experience within Community Engagement.
- Ability to travel to outer suburban and regional locations, and work outside of core business hours in the evening and on weekends where required
- A valid Working with Children Check clearance for paid employment
- Demonstrated understanding of, and commitment to, the value of public education
Key knowledge and experience
- Experience in the delivery of community consultation projects, either in the public or private sector.
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
