About the Role

 

 

Queensland Rail is on an exciting journey of transformation! We're looking for a dynamic, experienced Senior Manager to lead the finance function within our Ready for Growth Transformation Office.  As a key member of the team, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping Queensland Rail's financial future.  You'll lead a team of finance professionals, ensuring we optimize and embed sustainable commercial outcomes and deliver on our transformation goals.  This involves:

 

  • Developing and executing annual operational plans, budgets, and forecasts
  • Providing expert cost collection, control, and reporting services
  • Managing financial obligations and ensuring compliance with regulations
  • Collaborating with project management and corporate finance teams
  • Engaging with stakeholders to identify, implement and drive sustainable transformation initiatives in partnership with the business
  • Providing strategic financial advice to senior leadership

 

 

What we’re looking for:

 

We seek a highly skilled leader with extensive knowledge of financial and commercial issues in large infrastructure organizations. You'll have a proven track record in a senior leadership capacity in a transformation program.

 

  • Strong leadership skills to motivate and empower your team.
  • Excellent conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships.
  • Ability to influence, negotiate, and build partnerships with stakeholders.
  • Strong continuous improvement skills and experience.

 

 

Pre-Employment Qualifications:  The successful candidate must provide a certified copy the following before an offer can be extended:

  • CPA or CA Australian membership
  • Degree in Accounting, Economics, or Business

 

 

Employment Type/Remuneration:  This is a fixed-term, fulltime position (ending 30/06/2026), based in Brisbane CBD with a competitive remuneration and hybrid work options to support the balance between work and personal commitments.
