Job description

Who we are

Healthy North Coast operates as one of 31 local, independent Primary Health Networks (PHNs) funded by the Australian Government to streamline primary health services and improve community health outcomes, especially for vulnerable populations.  We deliver the PHN Program across the stunning north coast region from Tweed Heads to Port Macquarie across Githabul, Bundjalung, Gumbaynggirr, Dunghutti, Birpai and Yaegl lands.

We are a values-driven organisation with motivated and passionate employees, all who contribute to our culture of success.  Our people are our biggest asset and are provided with attractive remuneration packages (including salary packaging benefits), flexible work arrangements, wellbeing initiatives, fantastic leave options and a commitment to ongoing learning & development.

“HNC is committed to improving and sustaining employment outcomes for people from diverse backgrounds. We recognise the knowledge, insights, and capabilities of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Their strength, resilience and cultural competence are highly valued. HNC is committed to culturally safe recruitment practices”.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to shape the way people live and age on the North Coast. Joining an established Healthy Living and Ageing team, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to an ambitious transformative program of activities, and in particular, lead some of the project activities that are key to Healthy North Coast’s recently launched Healthy Ageing strategy.

These include leading the design and implementation of a sector-wide collaboration to support older people living in residential aged care, through an innovative integrated model of support. It also includes leading an important nurse capacity building project, supporting nurses in primary care and residential aged care to provide early interventions for Healthy Ageing, palliative and end of life care.

This diverse role will allow you to use your understanding of the health and aged care sector and leadership skills across many domains - project management, change management, stakeholder engagement, overseeing contracts, quality improvement, and activity reporting. This a really diverse role and an opportunity to see things through from end to end.

As well as working with a fantastic immediate team, your work will supported by HNC’s first class project management resources and business support teams, and our external service providers.

About You

You’ll need to be passionate about improving lives through quality care and for seeking evidence-based approaches to improving health and wellbeing outcomes. You’ll have the ability to inspire others on that journey and to share your expertise across teams. Naturally, leading multiple projects requires good organisational skills, the ability to plan effectively and to provide quality information as required. Skills that will underpin your success include:

  • Experience in leading significant projects and/or services
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
  • Strong communication and people leadership with the ability to manage, develop, support and coach people to achieve success
  • Experience in developing, implementing and monitoring business activities to support delivery of strategic and operational plans
  • Current clinical accreditation with relevant tertiary qualifications in healthcare and/or equivalent in management experience, 8+ years
  • Demonstrated working knowledge and expertise gained from a minimum of 5 years clinical experience working as a clinician within, or with, the aged care sector

For queries regarding this opportunity, including requests for a position description, please contact ****@hnc.org.au.  Please forward your resume and a maximum 2-page letter addressing the selection criteria. If we can assist you with any reasonable adjustments to submit your application for this position, please also reach out via ****@hnc.org.au.

A double vaccination status for COVID-19 is a condition of work with HNC and required to progress your employment application.

Applications close 9am 10th July 2024.
