What you'll do
We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Manager with experience optimising last mile delivery networks on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Head of Analytics and Insights in wiq, your primary responsibility will be to identify, scope, deliver and enable data scientists, engineers and analysts on a variety of projects to enhance the capabilities of our delivery network. You will act as a key contact for tribe leads for support and prioritisation of new and future initiatives as well as being a key sounding board in the direction of our data driven capabilities all with the focus of providing a better experience for our customers.
- People management and Chapter Lead, leading a team of Network analysts in wiq Data Practice
- To guide and support a cross functional data team supporting the last mile delivery network across a wide array of projects in HomeRun Business Unit
- Liaise between the executive/ tribal leadership team of Homerun and data chapter leads to ensure that projects have the right mix of skill sets and are enabled to deliver on key projects
- Development of strategic roadmap and project plans for the delivery of large scale data transformation projects affecting Homerun
- Support and identify opportunities to improve the performance of our last mile delivery network by maximising order availability for customers and balancing costs to deliver
- Provide general decision support analysis as and when required by the team leads
We are looking for an experienced strategic thinker, with exposure to last mile Network Analytics or logistics more generally. This role will have a problem solving mindset and will be responsible for developing and implementing innovative solutions and Network strategy that provide a competitive advantage for Woolworths eCommerce operations .
- 3+ years experience in an Analytics leadership role
- 5+ years experience supporting operations, last mile or logistics analytics
- Advanced analytics skills with the ability to generate value-add insights from complex data and make recommendations for short and long term strategies
- An excellent understanding of retail and logistics fundamentals
- Strong commercial acumen
- Strong outcome focus with the ability to deal with ambiguity and identify the right direction for the team
- Ability to structure pieces of work and manage multiple parties through the duration of engagement
- Ability to support team member technical development and delivery - proficient in Python and SQL with optional experience using GCP
- Understanding of data science principles and capabilities
- Advanced communications & presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and all levels
- Experience working in an agile organisation or agile processes
