What role will you play?
In this role, you will focus on ensuring operational risk management best practices are applied to a range of activities conducted within the function which include the interpretation and application of group and divisional policies to be applied to business-as-usual activities and timely escalation of operational risks, concerns, and issues to local and global stakeholders.
You will review operational incidents to prevent recurrence and provide operational risk advice to key finance initiatives ensuring that processes are being designed effectively with sufficient and appropriate controls. You will also be responsible for assessing and monitoring the design and operation of Finance Control Standards, which provide the minimum standards required for the consistent application of the Finance Control Framework across the organisation.
As part of your role in ensuring that our control environment is effective you will be required to consider the relevant processes performed within finance and the risks and controls that impacts the environment are designed and operating effectively.
What you offer
• 10+ years of experience in Financial Services as an operational risk management or risk assurance expert specialising across financial accounting, product control or regulatory reporting
• Thorough understanding of the day-to-day activities within a Finance function in Financial Services
• Ability to review and challenge business activities from a risk perspective
• Be comfortable with ad hoc deliverables and with making judgement calls
• Practical understanding of the implementation of risk and control frameworks to manage enterprise risks in highly regulated legal entities and across group structures
• CA/CPA qualification highly desirable.
