This role will report to and work closely with the Executive General Manager, Corporate Services and has one direct report, the Procurement and Contracts Specialist. You will support the business in embedding the procurement practices that align to deliver on our 2030 strategy.
This involves formalising relationships through contracts and agreements, overseeing ongoing partnerships, conducting tender processes to onboard new partners, and monitoring contractual obligations and performance.
- Using your expertise, provide advice to key stakeholders on all aspects of RSL Queensland’s procurement strategy and practice to enhance value through improved procurement efficiency and outcomes
- Lead, prepare and conduct the request of proposal (RFP’s), negotiations, contract management and contract closure activities to deliver greater efficiencies, savings and transparency to the whole of RSL Queensland Actively guide others and engage with key stakeholders and suppliers to ensure that procurement activities are executed in accordance with contracted requirements
- Assess and enhance the end-to-end contract management procedure to establish a streamlined process, ensuring clear delineation of roles between the procurement and legal teams
- Lead procurement and vendor management improvement planning and implementation in consultation with key stakeholders
- Identify and manage commercial, contractual, operational, financial, reputational, ethical and supply chain risks to minimise negative impacts on organisational objectives while encouraging opportunity and innovation
- Conduct Vendor Due Diligence and provide advice regarding Vendor Risk Management
- Lead high level negotiations with procurement partners and suppliers and establish collaborative stakeholder and strategic supplier relationships to maximise the organisation’s influenc
This role offers a mix of being a senior role whilst being hands on. You will be an experienced leader, providing support and guidance to your team.
- Minimum 8 years’ relevant experience.
- Tertiary Qualifications relevant to procurement, commercial management and/or contract management; CIPS qualifications preferred
- Demonstrated history of achieving costs savings across multiple procurement categories
- Excellent knowledge of contracts and procurement.
- Excellent communication, inter-personal and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Significant exposure to procurement best practice experiences;
- Demonstrated experience in creating effective working relationships and effectively negotiating with diverse stakeholder groups
- Ability to diagnose, resolve and communicate complex problems
