In this role you will lead a high performing Student and Academic Administration team, providing a clear vision of efficient and client-focused student service delivery across the faculty, and providing service of the highest standard to students from admission to graduation. Additionally, you will provide strategic support and policy advice to the Associate Dean (Academic) and Faculty Executive Officer on matters relating to Student and Academic Administration.Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:Reviewing and PlanningManage, plan and coordinate the Faculty in Academic Services administration to ensure a clear focus on client service and communication is maintained.Monitor and review Student and Academic governance related functions and associated processes and procedures, in conjunction with school where appropriate, to ensure these are efficient and effective.Contribute actively to the development of the Teaching and Learning component of the strategic planning processes for the Faculty.Manage and consult on cross faculty and external programs, projects and initiatives as required.Contribute to and maximise the overall quality and effectiveness of the Faculty’s academic administrative activities, including goal-setting and future planning.Coordinate, review, monitor and assist in development of Faculty submissions to the relevant approval bodies for undergraduate and postgraduate program and course proposals and submissions.Budget & OperationsManage the budget for Academic Services team as required, including monitoring expenditure to achieve efficient use of resources to provide the highest standard of service.Oversee the processes of staff review, performance appraisal and development.Collaborate with schools and ASD in training and development of staff. Coordinate the recruitment of staff in Academic Services administration positions in the Faculty and support these processes in the schools.Monitor workloads and deployment of staff to ensure maximum staffing flexibility while ensuring quality service delivery.Liaison & AdvisoryProvide an authoritative source of information and advice to the Faculty and Schools on matters relevant to academic services.Work with senior staff across the university to promote improved management, procedures and service delivery that aligns with Faculty goals.Provide advice and support on academic services administration to the Associate Dean (Academic), Faculty Executive Manager and members of the Faculty Executive.Contribute to policy and develop local procedures on academic services administration matters.Provide advice and support to Faculty and School Teaching and Learning Committees as required.Contribute to activities to increase student diversity, retention and satisfaction across the Faculty.Provide advice and guidance on marketing opportunities and strategies for student recruitment locally & internationally.Committee SupportRepresent the Faculty on central committees and working parties as required.Manage the secretariat of other Faculty academic committees.Manage and support Program Reviews of cross faculty and faculty programs as required.Deputise for Faculty Executive Manager as required including providing support for School Reviews.This is a full-time, continuing position.At HEW level 9, the full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $127,496 - $134,829, plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be up to $149,171 - $157,750 annually. As this role is covered by an Enterprise Agreement, you will also receive regular remuneration increases – at least once a year.About YouPostgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant management experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.A thorough knowledge of the University governance and organisational structures, academic and student policies and procedures, or an ability to acquire such knowledge rapidly.Demonstrated leadership and organisational skills and the ability to coordinate diverse functions and activities to achieve objectives within complex organisational structures.Sound operational knowledge of enterprise student information systems and the delivery of business functionality to user groups, or an ability to acquire such knowledge rapidly,Well-developed planning skills at both strategic and operational levels and strong problem-solving skills and analytical ability.Excellent communication skills including the ability to negotiate effectively and to write with clarity and precision.Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate, collaborate and negotiate effectively and to build and maintain productive working relationships across the organisation.Effectiveness in managing service delivery and maintaining a strong client focusIn addition, the following mandatory requirements apply:Work Rights: You must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment to apply.
