Responsibilities- Analysis and designing of a broad range of maritime structures utilising suitable software, ensuring compliance with required standards, and in a range of structural materials
- Design of maritime structures from concept through to completion
- Construction phases services for maritime structures including site inspections, shop drawing reviews, piling record reviews and re4sponses to RFIs
- Undertaking condition assessments and preparing condition reports on maritime structures
- Preparing remediation works designs and specifications for maritime structures
- Liaising with clients, project managers, contractors, and internal staff (other engineers and drafters)
Requirements
- Civil or structural bachelor's degree qualification - recognised by Engineers Australia if an overseas qualification.
- 5 - 10 years of relevant experience in maritime structures
- Ability to undertake enclosed water wave climate assessments would be considered an advantage but is not a requirement
- Ability to calculate wave loading on structures
- Experience in undertaking condition assessments in accordance with WSCAM or other reporting formats would be considered an advantage but is not a requirement
- Experience working with a broad range of clients from the government and private sectors
- Ability to work on local and interstate projects with local and interstate teams
- Based in Sydney
Experience with some of the following would highly regarded:
- Wharves, jetties and pedestrian boardwalks
- Berthing and mooring structures including dolphins and fenders
- Seawalls, slipways, boat lift cradles and boat ramps
- Hardstands
- Marinas (including layout and access ramps)
- Floating structures (stability design, flotation design and structural design)
