About the role:
We are looking for a full-time permanent Senior R&D Mechanical Engineer with design experience to lead and conduct R&D engineering projects from concept through to product launch.
Specifically, you will:
- Design and develop new products either from the ground up or leveraging existing designs.
- Ensure newly developed products are technically sound and minimise technical and safety risks for the organisation.
- Support and work collaboratively across the organisation with key stakeholders to introduce new products into the market.
- Provide engineering assessments and technical documentation to support the execution of R&D approved projects.
- Work closely with all internal groups and suppliers to ensure that any initial project specifications involving the products are translated correctly into a suitable technical solution and subsequent project delivery.
To be successful in the above duties, you will have:
- Tertiary qualification of Mechanical Engineering.
- Sound knowledge in engineering principles.
- Minimum 5 years design engineering experience.
- Experience in machine design.
- Proven track record in product development.
- Ability to develop professional customer documentation and presentation.
- Strong ability to be self-managing with drive to achieve challenging business goals.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Background in mining industry and use of SAP is preferred.
- Experience in fatigue design desirable.
